Club Med Byron Bay
Byron Bay NSW Australia
This project, won in design competition in 1993, and intended as a flagship eco-tourism resort for Club Med, was a development on 89 ha of land 4km north of Byron Bay in the area called Belongil.
Features of the village include accommodation for 800 guests, bars, pools, retail and recreation areas.
The center also included a health center, live theatre and a market place.
Substantial environmental constraints were placed on the project by the Byron Shire Council.
